Technical FAQs
| Q: |
How does work4sure work? |
| A: |
For a detailed explanation of the architecture, visit the Technology section of our website, but in broad terms:
-
The client configures a work4sure button and places it on the website.
-
Visitors to the client website click the work4sure button to initiate the service.
-
A small application is downloaded to the visitor's computer.
-
The application executes and returns a result to the work4sure server.
-
The server rationalises the result and passes it to the website in an open format for the website to action accordingly.

| Q: |
How long does the process take to complete? |
| A: |
As with any software program, performance is impacted by the specification of the machine, its processor, memory and general system specification. The speed of connection is also a factor, as is the exact information specified by the client, but in broad terms the speed of the service can be measured in seconds, and should comfortably complete in well under thirty seconds. |
| Q: |
How does work4sure safeguard users privacy? |
| A: |
By the most effective means possible: It avoids accessing any information which might contain, or combine to form, personal data. It therefore will not pick up user IDs, software serial numbers, registration details or computer names.
This really is the best approach for all concerned. The lack of personal data means that users' privacy remains in tact: They retain the power to control what personal information they do or do not disclose.
Website operators are also spared the hassle of maintaining databases and complying with online privacy legislation. |
| Q: |
How difficult is the technology to implement? |
| A: |
The technology on which work4sure's services are based is hosted on our servers. Therefore all a client has to do is configure buttons to detect the appropriate information, complete with a URL link to us. We then take care of the command line implementation without the end-user ever appearing to leave your site. |
| Q: |
But what about the back-end processes? |
| A: |
We have deliberately designed our architecture so as not to be prescriptive about the technologies used or the processes to which it interfaces. We return information in an open XML format - how it is then processed is up to the client, be it via ASP, ColdFusion, PHP, PERL or any other method. |
| Q: |
What platforms do you cater for? |
| A: |
Development has been undertaken in C++, to permit the porting of the technology to different platforms. Predictably, we have concentrated on the Windows® platforms, to cater for the broadest part of the market. We will shortly be extending our platform coverage to cater for Mac OSX. For further details, contact us. |
| Q: |
What do end-users require in order to use work4sure? |
| A: |
There are no special requirements for implementing work4sure as there is no software to install. |
